Single Pedal Control

Allows you to control acceleration and deceleration, as well as keep the vehicle stationary by using the accelerator pedal.

This feature turns on when the drive mode is switched to CITY mode.

Drive Mode System

  1. Thesingle pedal indicator (green) comes on in the gauge when Single Pedal Control is on.
  2. Even if you switch from CITY mode to another mode while the vehicle is stopped in Single Pedal Control, the vehicle will remain stopped at that time only.
  3. This system cannot be used if the parking brake and brake system indicator (amber) comes on when you repeatedly accelerate and decelerate, descend a long slope, or drive for a long time with a heavy load.

WARNING

Single Pedal Control is an auxiliary system for deceleration.

If the vehicle begins to move while stopped, the deceleration is not enough, or a warning to depress the brake pedal displays on the gauge, depress the brake pedal immediately.

Overreliance on this function when driving may result in a crash and serious injury or death.

Carefully check your surroundings and operate your vehicle safely.

Do not leave the vehicle while the vehicle is stopped by the system.

If a vehicle moves unexpectedly, it may cause a crash, resulting in serious injury or even death. When parking, change the shift position to P and engage the parking brake.

WARNING

Do not remove your foot from the brake pedal on steep slopes or slippery surfaces.

On steep slopes and slippery surfaces, the car may move if you remove your foot from the brake, even if Single Pedal Control is in use.

If a vehicle moves unexpectedly, it may cause a crash, resulting in serious injury or even death.

When stopping for a long time to let people get in and out of the vehicle, or load or unload luggage from the vehicle, change the shift position to P.

Automatic Shutoff

Under the following conditions, the system will be temporarily cancelled, and thesingle pedal indicator will changes from green to gray. Once these conditions no longer exist, the system automatically resumes.

  1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow has been activated.
  2. The driver’s seat belt is unfastened while driving (will turn off when the brake pedal is depressed after parking).
  3. The driver’s seat belt is unfastened while the vehicle is stopped.

Under the following conditions, the system will be automatically cancelled, and thesingle pedal indicator will turn off. In this case, switch to a mode other than CITY mode once, and then switch it back to CITY mode. Once these conditions no longer exist, the system automatically resumes.

  1. The vehicle is on a slippery slope or the vehicle has skidded.
  2. The vehicle accelerates/decelerates repeatedly.
  3. The vehicle is on a long downward slope.
  4. When driving for a long time with a heavy load.
  5. When using a vehicle turntable.
  6. The parking brake and brake system indicator (amber) comes on while driving.
  7. The power mode is set to VEHICLE OFF while the vehicle is stopped.*1
  8. The parking brake and brake system indicator (amber) is on while the vehicle is stopped.*1
  9. The vehicle slides down significantly due to a slope while the vehicle is stopped.*1

*1: In this case, the parking brake will be applied automatically.

System Operation

Using the accelerator pedal, you can adjust the speed of the vehicle while moving forwards or backwards.

If you let up on the accelerator, the vehicle will slow down until it comes to a stop, and it will remain stationary after stopping. If you press the accelerator pedal, the vehicle will start moving.

The automatic brake hold indicator comes on while the vehicle is stopped.

  1. If the vehicle is stopped for 10 minutes or more, the parking brake will be automatically applied.
  1. When the vehicle does not decelerate enough even if you release the accelerator pedal, depress the brake pedal.
  2. You can change the deceleration rate by using the paddle on the steering wheel. The deceleration rate can be changed in four stages.
  3. When the system is ON, the vehicle will not creep.
  4. When using the system, just like with foot brakes or other regenerative brakes, there will be wear on the brake pads.

CAUTION

Be careful when adjusting the deceleration rate.

Depending on the deceleration rate, the tyres may skid on slippery surfaces.

If(amber) is displayed, there may be a problem with the system. Have your vehicle inspected by a dealer immediately.
