About Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

When your vehicle is traveling near the centre of a lane and the system detects white (or yellow) lane markings to the left and right, it assists with steering operation to help keep the vehicle within the lane.

Important Safety Reminders

The LKAS is for your convenience only. It is not an autonomous driving system and always requires driver attention and control. The system does not work if you take your hands off the steering wheel or fail to steer the vehicle. It is always your responsibility to safely operate the vehicle and avoid collisions.

The LKAS is convenient when it is used on motorways or a dual carriage way.

If the vehicle drifts towards either left or right lane line due to the system applying torque, turn off the LKAS and have your vehicle checked by a dealer.

System Operation

Provides assistance to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane. When the vehicle nears a white or yellow line, the steering force of the electric power steering will become stronger.

In some driving situations, when the system detects that the vehicle has departed from its lane, the LKAS alerts you with slight steering wheel vibration, and audible and visual warnings.
